The Greater Chennai City Traffic Police (GCTP) have announced temporary traffic diversions for the weekend due to Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) work at Adyar Junction. On Saturday and Sunday, vehicles traveling from Sardar Vallabhai Patel Road to Greenways Road, Marina Beach, and Mylapore will be rerouted at the Adyar Bus Depot Junction. They must take a path through Gandhi Nagar 2nd Cross Street, Ramachandra Adhithanar Road, and Durga Bhai Deshmukh Road with a left turn towards Thiru Vi Ka Bridge to reach their destinations. Meanwhile, the Adyar Bridge will temporarily accommodate two-way traffic. There will be no rerouting for those traveling from Thiru Vi Ka Bridge to Adyar or Thiruvanmiyur, nor for vehicles on S.V. Patel Road heading to Adyar or Thiruvanmiyur via LB Road, or from LB Road and Besant Road towards Greenways Road.
