The Arunachal Pradesh government has announced a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for its regular employees and pensioners, effective from July 1. This revision raises the DA and DR from 50% to 53%, benefiting 68,818 regular employees in the northeastern state by providing them with enhanced financial support. The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who also oversees the finance, planning, and investment portfolios. The increase aligns with the central government’s policy and extends benefits to state government employees, All India Service officers stationed in the state, central government employees on deputation, and pensioners, along with their families.
In addition to the hike in DA and DR, the government has increased the House Rent Allowance (HRA) to 30%, 20%, and 10%, depending on the category of towns. This comprehensive financial revision signifies the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of its workforce and retired personnel. The estimated financial impact of this decision is pegged at Rs 63.92 crore, covering the period from July 2024 to March 2025.
Deputy Chief Minister Mein highlighted that this significant step reflects the administration’s unwavering dedication to supporting those who serve and have served in the state.
