Heartfelt Gratitude: Odisha Tribal Woman Sends Rs 100 to PM Modi as Thank You, Receives Touching Response
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude towards the tribal women of Odisha, stating that their blessings motivate him to continue working towards developing a prosperous India. This sentiment came in response to BJP Vice President Baijayant Jay Panda’s recent social media post. During a BJP membership drive in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, a tribal woman approached Panda and insisted on giving him Rs 100 as a token of gratitude for PM Modi’s efforts. Despite Panda’s protests that the gesture was unnecessary, the woman persisted until he accepted the money. Her gesture was documented in Panda’s post, highlighting the significant transformation both Odisha and India are currently undergoing.
PM Modi replied to the post, expressing that he was deeply moved by the affection shown by the woman. He praised the women of India, ‘Nari Shakti,’ for their continuous support, which he finds inspiring in his mission to build a ‘Viksit Bharat’ or developed India. This event follows significant political shifts in Odisha, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ended the 24-year dominance of the Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD), securing 78 seats in the state assembly elections. The BJD managed only 51 seats, while Congress secured 14. In the concurrent Lok Sabha elections, BJP captured 20 out of 21 seats, with Congress gaining just one and BJD none.
The exchange and political outcomes underscore the growing support for BJP in Odisha, reflecting changing political dynamics in the region.
