Remarkable Reunion: Determined Police, Owner, and Friends Triumph in Stolen Motorcycle Recovery
A high-end motorcycle, stolen in broad daylight from outside a mall in Edappally, was swiftly recovered owing to the relentless efforts of the Elamakkara police and the motorcycle’s owner, Mohammed Faiz, along with his friends. Faiz, an interior design student, discovered his 650CC motorcycle missing just 90 minutes after parking it around 2.30 p.m. on Friday. Promptly, he reported the theft to the police. Led by Sub-Inspector Manoj C., the police team quickly arrived on the scene. CCTV footage revealed two individuals stealing the motorcycle, who had come on another bike. Determined not to just file a complaint and wait, Faiz and his friends launched their investigation, canvassing the area for further CCTV footage, with the police assisting wherever shop owners hesitated. On Saturday, footage was found showing the suspects at Kombara near NAD, an area with limited surveillance. Coincidentally, a friend shared a video of Faiz’s motorcycle being towed by another, initially intending to joke about it running out of fuel. Further investigation revealed the bike in a parking lot at a local house. By Sunday evening, the suspects were located in Kollam. Subsequent police action, led by Mr. Manoj and including Faiz and a friend, led to the arrest of Savio Babu, 21, and Charles Michael Augustine, 22. They were charged with theft and found with the motorcycle on a fake number plate. The alleged motive was to gift the stolen bike to a friend.
