Brace Yourself: Assam Braces for Torrential Downpour on October 10!
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Northeast India, specifically Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh, indicating anticipated heavy rainfall on Thursday, October 10. A cyclonic circulation over Eastern Assam and its neighboring regions at lower tropospheric levels is the primary reason for these weather conditions. The IMD forecasts not only heavy rainfall over Assam and Meghalaya but also anticipates very heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh.
Additionally, other regions including Konkan and Goa, Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, the Gujarat Region, Kerala, and Lakshadweep are also expected to experience heavy to very heavy downpours today. The IMD also predicts that the northeastern states will witness light to moderate rainfall, scattered across the region over the next five days, with the intensity reducing to isolated light rainfall in the subsequent two days.
Furthermore, Friday, October 11, is expected to bring isolated instances of heavy rainfall to Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh. The IMD advises residents and local administrations to remain vigilant and prepared for potential weather-induced disruptions.
