Arunachal Headmaster Transferred Amid Disturbing Allegations of Sexual Harassment: Unveiling the Truth
Md. Asgar Ali, the headmaster of Government Secondary School Gautampur in Diyun Circle, has been transferred to Yankang Secondary School in Changlang district, effective October 1. The transfer follows serious allegations of sexual harassment made against Ali by a 15-year-old student.
The scandal surfaced when a Class 9 student from GSS Gautampur accused Ali of sexual misconduct and intimidation. According to the student’s complaint, which was backed by her father, Ali had been harassing her mentally since August 15. He allegedly demanded “physical favours” and threatened to fail her in exams if she did not comply.
Despite the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) 12 days prior to the transfer, no action has been taken by the police, as Ali remains at large, according to the girl’s father. The alleged harassment escalated on September 13 and 14, resulting in the girl ceasing to attend classes due to mental distress. Her father has called for a thorough investigation into Ali, whom he described as a “criminal-minded teacher,” and insists on severe punishment if the charges are confirmed.
The formal complaint reached authorities on September 20, including the Extra Assistant Commissioner of Diyun, the Deputy Director of School Education in Changlang, and the Deputy Commissioner of Changlang. Additionally, the All Muklom Students’ Union (AMSU) and All Tutsa Students’ Union (ATSU) have demanded the immediate cancellation of Ali’s transfer. They have submitted letters to the Deputy Director of DDSE, pressing for action within three days.
This development underscores the urgency for authorities to address the allegations and ensure justice for the victim. The case emphasizes the broader issue of student safety within educational institutions and calls for a comprehensive response from law enforcement and educational authorities.
