Exciting Launch: Empower Tripura’s Travelers with App-Based Cab Services at Agartala Airport
Tripura is considering launching app-based cab services such as Ola and Uber for Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala, the state’s sole airport. Currently, travelers rely on prepaid taxis and three-wheelers, which the state government believes are not as efficient or cost-effective as app-based alternatives. The introduction of these services aims to enhance passenger comfort and reduce travel costs. Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury reassured existing service providers that their businesses would not be disrupted. Notably, the airport experiences over 4,000 passengers daily, amplifying the need for upgraded transportation options. The minister highlighted that app-based services are available at most airports across the country and will soon be introduced in Agartala for passenger convenience.
