Controversy Unveiled: Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s Empathetic Clarification on Samantha-Naga Divorce Remarks Linked to KTR
Telangana Minister Konda Surekha sought to clarify her earlier comments linking the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao, which had sparked controversy. In a post on X, Surekha explained that her remarks aimed to criticize KT Rama Rao for allegedly “belittling women,” not to offend Samantha Prabhu. She expressed admiration for Samantha’s resilience and stated her willingness to retract her comments unconditionally if they were perceived as hurtful.
Surekha had earlier accused KT Rama Rao of tapping actors’ phones and using the information to blackmail them, alleging this led to Samantha’s divorce. However, Samantha, responding via Instagram, clarified that her divorce was a mutual decision, denying any political conspiracy. She requested an end to the speculation surrounding her personal life.
Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni also criticized Surekha’s remarks, asserting that public figures’ personal lives should not be exploited for political attacks and urged respect for privacy. Meanwhile, KT Rama Rao has sent a defamation notice to Konda Surekha. He accused her of attempting to damage his reputation and demanded an immediate retraction of her statements.
