Riley Keough’s Heartfelt Mission to Preserve Elvis Presley’s Cherished Graceland: ‘Our Beloved Family Home’
Riley Keough is dedicated to preserving her family’s legacy. In an interview with People, the “Daisy Jones & the Six” star shared her commitment as the current owner of Graceland, the historic Memphis mansion originally owned by her late grandfather, music legend Elvis Presley. Keough emphasized her desire to uphold the work of her grandmother, Priscilla Presley, and her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, in maintaining the cherished family home.
Following Lisa Marie Presley’s passing in January at the age of 54, Keough was appointed as the sole trustee of her mother’s estate, which includes Graceland. She also manages sub-trusts for her 15-year-old twin sisters, Finley and Harper Lockwood, whom Lisa Marie shared with her ex-husband Michael Lockwood.
Earlier this year, Random House announced an upcoming memoir by Lisa Marie Presley, titled “From Here to the Great Unknown,” set for release in October 2024. Keough played a crucial role in completing the memoir, relying on tapes of her mother’s recorded memories. The memoir promises a raw and authentic look at Lisa Marie’s life, breaking away from the public’s superficial perceptions to reveal her true essence.
“My mother was constantly discussed and dissected as Elvis Presley’s daughter,” Keough told People. “In her memoir, she wanted to go beyond magazine headlines and show the world who she truly was — a remarkable human being. I hope I’ve captured that in finishing her story.”
In addition to her twin sisters, Lisa Marie shared a son, Benjamin Keough, with her ex-husband Danny Keough. Tragically, Benjamin died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27.
“From Here to the Great Unknown” is slated for release on October 8 and is available for pre-order now, offering an intimate glimpse into the life of Lisa Marie Presley, as lovingly completed by her daughter, Riley Keough.
