Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has congratulated artist Sarungbam Nimai Singh of Yumnam Leikai in Imphal for receiving the Lalit Kala Akademi Award at the 65th National Exhibition of Art.
Nimai Singh was among 20 awardees selected from 6,175 entries submitted by artists from across India. His teakwood sculpture, titled “Mudra-1,” earned him the prestigious recognition.
Khemchand Singh said the achievement was a matter of pride for Manipur and further enriched the state’s artistic heritage. He also wished Nimai Singh continued success in his creative journey.
The award brings national attention to Manipur’s visual arts talent and the contribution of its artists to India’s diverse cultural landscape.
