SCTE Kohima Triumphs: 3rd Graduation Day for B.Ed Class of 2026
The State College of Teacher Education (SCTE), Kohima, held its 3rd Graduation Day for the B.Ed Class of 2026 on August 12, where 44 student‑teachers were conferred their degrees. The ceremony, attended by faculty and guests, marked the culmination of the college’s teacher education programme for the year.
Prof. Gyanendra Nath Tiwari, Head of the Department of Teacher Education at Nagaland University’s Kohima Campus, Meriema, served as the graduation guest. Prof. Tiwari formally conferred degrees on the graduating student‑teachers and addressed the assembly on the responsibilities and role of newly qualified teachers.
The programme was compered by Assistant Professor Anisha Himb. Dr. Khreizonuo Belho delivered the welcome address, and Dr. Asale Vitso offered congratulatory remarks. Student participation included a special song by B.Ed third‑semester student‑teachers and a graduates’ speech by Rizi Sangtam.
Special Awards and testimonials were presented by Khrieno, headmistress of Bayavu Higher Secondary School, recognizing selected graduates for leadership, team spirit, achievements and contributions to the college community. Testimonial certificates were awarded to Rizi Sangtam, Amit Sonar, Razukhweto Tacu and Imnanaro Aier.
Academic excellence was also acknowledged: Swedezhonuo Kirha, who placed 18th in the Top 20 of the Nagaland University B.Ed Examination 2026, received a commendation certificate. The college magazine was released during the event by Joseph Keneisetuo Belho, a senior teacher at PM Shri GMS, L. Khel, Kohima Village. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Thronlem Jorlim Konyak.
