BFI Nominates Hemanta Kumar Kalita as Observer — Key Move
GUWAHAI: Hemanta Kumar Kalita, general secretary of the Assam Amateur Boxing Association, has been nominated by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) to serve as an observer at the Commonwealth Games. Kalita will be responsible for closely observing and monitoring the performance of the Indian boxing team during the Games and for providing feedback to support the continued development of Indian boxing.
The nomination tasks Kalita with assessing the team’s performances in competition, identifying areas for improvement, and relaying his observations to the BFI and relevant state-level stakeholders. His role is intended to offer an independent appraisal that can inform coaching, preparation and talent development efforts.
The BFI’s decision to appoint an experienced state administrator as an observer highlights the federation’s focus on oversight and performance-driven development ahead of major multi-sport events. Kalita’s reports are expected to contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen India’s boxing programme.
