Entertainment Buzz: Exclusive Comebacks Shaking Bollywood
The Supreme Court on Friday (July 17, 2026) cleared the way for the all-India release of the animated film Mahaprabhu Jagannath, permitting its screening on or after July 28, 2026, once the Lord Jagannath Yatra festivities conclude. A bench of Justices B.V. Nagarathna and R. Mahadevan noted the film is adapted from a web series already available on YouTube and that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted certification for public screening. The producers — Ele Animations Pvt Ltd — had challenged an Orissa High Court order of July 15, 2026, which had restrained the company from releasing the movie. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court the Yatra began on Thursday (July 16, 2026) in Odisha and elsewhere; the bench declined to stay the high court order and refused to direct an immediate release on July 17.
