E-rickshaw Driver’s Son Scores 502 in NEET — Assam Triumph
Bijit Ray, a resident of Balajan Tiniali in Kokrajhar district, Assam, has cleared the NEET UG 2026 examination with a score of 502 marks, a feat that has drawn admiration across his community. The son of Gobinda and Hira Ray, Bijit’s success has been hailed locally as a remarkable example of determination overcoming financial hardship.
Bijit’s father, Gobinda, supports the family by driving an e-rickshaw and working as a daily wage labourer, and the family also relies on small-scale farming. Despite limited resources, they prioritized Bijit’s education, enabling him to prepare for the competitive medical entrance examination.
News of Bijit’s result prompted celebrations in his locality, with residents calling his achievement a matter of pride for Balajan Tiniali and surrounding areas. His success has become a focal point of encouragement for other students in the region.
After the results were announced, Bijit urged his peers to stay focused and persistent. “Keep studying, work hard and have faith in yourself. Success will follow,” he said.
The family’s humble background is evident in reports that Bijit’s parents had little prior knowledge about the NEET examination itself. Still, their unwavering support and Bijit’s perseverance helped him secure a place among successful candidates.
Bijit Ray’s achievement in NEET UG 2026 has reinforced a simple message for Kokrajhar: poverty need not be a barrier to ambition when sustained effort, family support, and belief in oneself come together.
