Do you want the title strictly in English, or should it match the dominant language of “SIR-ni bak gita nokantichina re·e form-rangko sualna a·bachenga” (which does not appear to be English)?
The Election Commission has ordered a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in parts of Meghalaya, directing Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to carry out door-to-door enumeration and collect self-enumeration forms from residents. The drive aims to update and verify voter entries ahead of the roll’s scheduled publications and to ensure accurate inclusion of eligible electors.
In North Garo Hills district, BLOs assigned to Mendipathar, Salpara and Dekachang have been specifically instructed to visit households in their jurisdictions, distribute and collect self-enumeration forms, and assist residents in completing them where needed. BLOs are expected to verify existing entries, note additions or corrections, and resolve any discrepancies discovered during field visits.
The SIR process includes key dates: the qualifying date for inclusion in the revision is October 1; a draft electoral roll is slated for publication on August 5; and the final/complete electoral roll is to be published on October 7. These steps are part of the standard SIR procedure to allow citizens to check the draft, raise objections or claim additions, and have those matters addressed before the final roll is issued.
BLOs must compile the collected forms, household-level verifications and any objections or corrections, and submit the consolidated records to the District Administration, North Garo Hills, as instructed. The administration will oversee the collation and further processing of updates to the electoral roll.
The SIR is a routine but important exercise that allows eligible voters to ensure their names and details are correctly recorded, and enables new electors to be added. Voters who have queries or require assistance with the self-enumeration form are advised to contact their local BLO during the revision period.
