Donyi Polo Airport Boosts Passenger Experience on Yatri Suvidha Diwas
Donyi Polo Airport in Arunachal Pradesh observed Yatri Suvidha Diwas on Monday, June 15, staging a series of passenger-focused initiatives and announcing a revised flight schedule that will affect services to Kolkata from June 16. The day combined traditional welcome rituals and passenger outreach with operational changes officials said were necessary in view of external developments.
Airport authorities conducted a tilak ceremony for arriving passengers and distributed saplings under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.” A photo booth was set up for travellers and staff collected feedback from passengers as part of efforts to enhance the overall travel experience.
Airport Director Narender said the activities were intended to strengthen passenger services and to reaffirm the Airports Authority of India’s commitment to providing a seamless travel environment. He noted that several facilities have been upgraded after the new terminal became operational, including an increase in car parking capacity from 100 to 300 vehicles.
Officials also flagged adjustments to flight operations influenced by external factors, including the ongoing situation in West Asia. As part of a revised schedule, direct flights between Donyi Polo Airport and Kolkata will not operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays beginning June 16, reducing the route to four days a week.
Authorities described the changes as part of broader operational planning while emphasising that connectivity for passengers will be maintained. The combined passenger-centric activities and infrastructure upgrades were presented as steps to improve service quality even as flight schedules are adapted to evolving circumstances.
