Agartala, June 6, 2026 — Udaipur’s Gyanshala celebrated its third foundation day on Saturday with a full-day programme at the Udaipur Science Centre, marking three years since the institution’s founding and highlighting its growing reputation for academic excellence and community engagement. The event brought together students, faculty, retired educators and local leaders to recognize recent examination successes and showcase student talent.
The anniversary was inaugurated by Debal Debroy, Sabhadhipati of the Gomati Zilla Parishad, in the presence of retired educators Dr. Harekrishna Acharya, Ratan Chand and Partha Sarathi Das, noted art teacher Nandadulal Debnath, Gyanshala Principal Krishan Acharya, and the school’s teaching staff. Organizers said the gathering underscored the school’s close ties with local educationists and civic representatives.
Cultural programmes filled the day, featuring dance, music, recitation and student anchoring that organisers described as signs of emerging talent in media and public speaking. Guests felicitated students who performed well in the recent Madhyamik examinations; Principal Krishan Acharya noted that Gyanshala pupils have consistently ranked among the top achievers, with many securing multiple distinctions.
In his address, Sabhadhipati Debroy praised Gyanshala as a premier local institution focused on shaping well-rounded individuals. He emphasized the school’s commitment to affordable, quality education for children from modest middle-class families, commended the teachers’ dedication, and expressed his intention to support the institution’s future growth.
The celebration closed with a final cultural presentation and a felicitation of several distinguished Udaipur journalists — Apuram Sarkar, Utpal Dey, Prasenjit Dey, Somen Sen and Bittu Majumdar — reflecting Gyanshala’s broader aim to honor contributions across fields while reinforcing its role in the community.
