Alarming: Argentina Woman Bites Officer After Sneaking Onto Plane
A JetSmart flight at Buenos Aires’ Jorge Newbery Airpark was briefly delayed after a passenger who refused to pay an excess-baggage fee boarded without clearance and later bit a police officer while being removed, according to The New York Post. Airport staff alerted security after the woman-carrying extra cabin luggage-refused to pay the required fee at the gate and nonetheless made her way onto the aircraft.
Staff say police boarded the plane to escort the passenger off. Video shared online and cited by The New York Post shows a physical struggle as officers tried to remove her from her seat. During the confrontation the woman bit a female officer, alarming fellow passengers who watched the scene unfold.
Passengers reportedly applauded once the woman was finally taken off the aircraft. The flight was delayed only briefly and eventually continued to its destination. Authorities said the passenger suffered minor injuries and was examined at the airport clinic after the incident.
The woman has been detained and is under investigation, though The New York Post reports that no formal charges have been confirmed. The episode has reignited debate over aggressive passenger behaviour and disputes over baggage fees, prompting renewed calls for airlines and airport authorities to review boarding procedures and enforcement practices to prevent similar incidents.
