Drake Makes Chart History: Unprecedented Top 3 Albums Sweep
Drake has made chart history by becoming the first artist to occupy the top three positions on the Billboard 200 albums chart after releasing Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honour simultaneously on May 15, 2026. According to Billboard, Iceman debuted at No. 1 with 463,000 equivalent album units, while Habibti and Maid of Honour opened at Nos. 2 and 3 with 114,000 and 110,000 equivalent album units respectively.
Iceman’s No. 1 debut gives Drake his 15th chart-topping album, a total that surpasses Jay-Z for the most No. 1 albums among solo male and R&B/hip-hop artists and ties him with Taylor Swift for the most No. 1 albums among solo artists overall; only The Beatles remain ahead with 19. Billboard also reported that Iceman posted the second-biggest sales week of 2026, behind BTS’s Arirang (641,000 equivalent units), and marked the biggest week of the year for an R&B/hip-hop release.
The three-album sweep completes a campaign Drake had been building for nearly two years. He promoted Iceman through an Iceman livestream series that previewed unreleased tracks such as “What Did I Miss?” and “Which One” featuring Central Cee. During the final livestream before the drop, Drake surprised fans by announcing two additional albums and then released all three projects at once.
The feat underscores Drake’s commercial dominance and streaming-era chart power, combining traditional sales, individual track sales and streaming activity into equivalent album units-a metric used by Billboard to rank albums. The news was reported via ANI, citing Billboard.
