Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia visited the Orchidarium in Gangtok on Saturday during a three-day trip to Sikkim, describing the attraction as “amazing” and praising the State government for its efforts in developing the site. Scindia is in Sikkim to attend the 50th Statehood Day celebrations.
During the visit, the minister viewed the Orchidarium’s displays and complimented the work done to establish and enhance the facility, noting the state’s role in its development. His remarks highlighted the Orchidarium as a notable attraction in Gangtok and drew attention to efforts by state authorities to improve such institutions.
Scindia’s stop at the Orchidarium formed part of a broader programme tied to the golden jubilee of Sikkim’s statehood, underscoring the Centre’s participation in the anniversary events and its engagement with local initiatives during the visit.
