Assam’s Baksa Reviews Key Priorities for Vibrant Village II
The District Level Committee (DLC) for implementation of the Vibrant Village Programme-II (VVP-II) visited Daodhara village in Jalah Development Block, Baksa district, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, to review developmental planning and assess requirements for rolling out the scheme. The visit was led by Kimnei Changsan, IAS, District Commissioner of Baksa, and took place in the presence of Thaneswar Basumatary, MLA of the 41-Manas Legislative Assembly Constituency.
A stakeholder brainstorming session was held during the visit to prepare a Village Action Plan aimed at ensuring effective implementation of development projects under VVP-II. Officials and local representatives worked to identify priority interventions and map short- and medium-term actions for the village.
Discussions centered on assessing infrastructural needs and planning the execution of schemes related to connectivity, basic amenities and livelihood generation for this border village. Participants reviewed local priorities and considered which sectors should receive early attention under the programme.
As part of the day’s activities, the committee conducted a spot study tour of Daodhara to evaluate ground-level conditions and pinpoint potential development sectors that the Village Action Plan should target.
The programme was attended by Heads of Departments, district officials and personnel from the Sashastra Seema Bal, reflecting a coordinated approach to planning and implementation for the VVP-II interventions in Daodhara.
