Players place bets by forecasting the last two digits of the total number of arrows that hit the target across a round. A correct prediction of those final two digits determines the winning ticket.
Payouts differ by round: a correct guess in the first round pays Rs 80 for every Rs 1 staked, while a correct guess in the second round pays Rs 60 for every Rs 1 staked. The game also permits forecast-style bets across both rounds; according to the rules provided, a successful multi-round prediction can yield winnings of up to Rs 4,000 for every Rs 1 bet.
Teer’s blend of archery tradition and betting has made it a distinctive cultural and economic activity in Meghalaya, attracting local participants and contributing financially to organisers in the state.
