Meghalaya University to Host 5-Day Northeast NSS Festival Apr 21-25
Guwahati: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) will host the Northeast NSS Festival from April 21 to 25 on its campus, bringing together National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from across the northeastern states. The five-day event, themed “Empowered Youth for Viksit Bharat,” aims to mobilize students and young volunteers for community service and nation-building initiatives.
Organizers say the festival will provide a platform for volunteers to share best practices, participate in community-oriented activities, and strengthen regional collaboration among NSS units. The programme underscores practical youth engagement aligned with national development goals while emphasising skill-building and leadership among participants.
Central to the festival is NSS’s guiding principle, “Not Me, But You,” which promotes selfless service and social responsibility. Through workshops, outreach drives and exchange sessions, the event intends to reinforce that spirit among volunteers and encourage sustained local action beyond the festival’s duration.
By convening young volunteers from across the Northeast, USTM aims to foster a network of motivated youth who can translate training and ideas into on-the-ground projects that contribute to a more resilient and developed Bharat. The festival runs April 21–25 at the university campus.
