The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class 10 Board Examination 2026 (Session 1) results, with an overall pass percentage of 93.70 per cent. The exams were conducted between February 17 and March 11, 2026; of 24,83,479 registered students, 24,71,777 appeared and 23,16,008 passed. Students can access their results on cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in, and via the UMANG app or DigiLocker using the required credentials.
This year’s pass rate shows a marginal rise from 2025, when the pass percentage was 93.66 per cent. In 2025, 23,85,079 students had registered, 23,71,939 appeared and 22,21,636 passed-meaning the overall pass percentage has increased by 0.04 percentage points in 2026, indicating a slight but steady improvement.
Gender-wise, girls outperformed boys: girls recorded a pass percentage of 94.99 per cent while boys registered 92.6 per cent. The gender gap in favour of girls continues to be a notable feature of CBSE Class 10 outcomes.
By school category, Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) led with a 99.57 per cent pass rate, followed by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) at 99.42 per cent. Government schools recorded 91.43 per cent, government-aided schools 91.01 per cent, and private schools 93.77 per cent.
With around 25 lakh students appearing for the Session 1 exams, the results will determine streams and subject choices for Class 11 entry. Students and parents should download and preserve digital scorecards from the official portals and follow their schools’ guidance for further academic steps.
