Sikkim CM Chairs High-Level Meeting Ahead of PM Modi Visit
Gangtok: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Monday convened a high-level coordination meeting at Samman Bhawan to review preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state later this month. Cabinet ministers, MLAs, senior bureaucrats and department heads attended to ensure unified planning for the high-profile visit.
Tamang called the occasion “a moment of immense pride and joy for the people of Sikkim,” and said all arrangements must reflect “the highest standards of efficiency, dignity, and excellence.” Officials carried out a comprehensive review of logistics, security arrangements and the overall programme framework to ensure the visit proceeds smoothly.
The chief minister stressed seamless inter-departmental coordination and timely completion of assigned responsibilities. He linked the visit’s significance to its timing: it will coincide with the closing ceremony of Sikkim’s golden jubilee Statehood celebrations, adding symbolic weight to the prime minister’s presence.
The meeting also reviewed plans for projects slated to be inaugurated by the prime minister, as well as foundation stone-laying ceremonies for several major initiatives across the state. Tamang reiterated that arrangements should showcase efficiency and dignity while upholding Sikkim’s tradition of hospitality.
