Accelerate MSME Growth in Nagaland: Coordinated Action Now
A high‑level meeting at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat on promoting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as engines of growth focused on strengthening convergence between the Centre and the state. Chaired by Additional Chief Secretary V. Shashank Shekhar and attended by S.C.L. Das, Secretary of the MSME Ministry, the session stressed coordinated action across departments to maximise benefits for businesses and local stakeholders and to ensure effective scheme implementation.
Officials underlined the need to improve access to credit, accelerate technology adoption and digitisation, upgrade infrastructure, and expand skill development programmes. These measures were presented as interlinked priorities to help MSMEs scale, access new markets, and enhance competitiveness in both traditional and modern sectors.
Participants reviewed flagship schemes and initiatives aimed at enterprise support, with particular emphasis on measures for women entrepreneurs and for sustaining traditional industries. Breaking departmental silos and enhancing collaboration were highlighted as essential steps to translate policy into on‑ground results.
The meeting concluded with a call for regular follow‑ups and stronger Centre‑state coordination to fast‑track inclusive economic growth across Nagaland, signalling a push toward more integrated support for the state’s MSME ecosystem.
