Youngest Lobo Narzary Makes Bold Independent Bid for Kokrajhar, Assam
Lobo Narzary, a 25-year-old from Soraibil in Kokrajhar district, has announced he will contest the 2026 Assam Assembly election as an independent candidate from No. 3 Kokrajhar Assembly constituency. He told reporters his decision to enter electoral politics is driven by a desire to accelerate local development and expand employment opportunities for youth in the region.
Narzary is poised to be one of the youngest candidates in Assam’s upcoming polls. Speaking to the media, he said his campaign will prioritise development, infrastructure upgrades and job creation, arguing that these issues are central to improving everyday life in Kokrajhar.
He expressed confidence that voters would back his bid, promising “fresh leadership” for the constituency. Narzary framed his candidacy as an alternative to established political options, emphasizing practical steps rather than partisan rhetoric.
Political observers say his entry adds a new dimension to the contest in Kokrajhar as campaigning gains momentum ahead of the 2026 assembly elections. With the polls approaching, Narzary’s youth and local-focused platform are likely to attract attention from both voters and other candidates in the constituency.
