‘তেজ দিম কিন্তু মাটি নিদিওঁ…’: ইৰানে ভাৰতৰ মঞ্চত আমেৰিকাক উস্কুৱালে
Iran is not prepared to enter talks with the United States and is ready to wage a protracted war if the current situation continues, Iran’s top leader’s representative in India, Abdul Majid Hakim Ilahi, said in a recent interview. Speaking to a news agency, Ilahi warned that there are no signs the Middle East fighting will ease and that the conflict could intensify rather than subside.
Ilahi said unrest and anger remain visible on Iran’s streets, and that people have openly expressed willingness to make sacrifices to defend the country. “People have said they are ready to give blood, but they will not abandon their land,” he said, portraying broad domestic resolve.
Asked how long the conflict might last, Ilahi acknowledged the uncertainty but stressed Tehran’s determination to fight to the end if necessary. He recalled Iran’s eight-year war with Iraq as evidence of the country’s long-war experience and readiness for sustained conflict.
Ilahi dismissed recent claims by former U.S. President Donald Trump that Tehran is seeking talks, saying Iran has no interest in negotiations at this time because, in his view, the war began as a result of U.S. actions. He placed responsibility for the current situation squarely on America.
“We will not bow to our adversaries,” Ilahi said, adding that Iran will not yield under external pressure. He also warned that the crisis is not confined to Iran and is affecting the wider world, citing volatility in fuel prices and disruptions to gas, petrol and oil supplies on international markets as examples. The duration of the conflict remains unpredictable, but Tehran’s representative portrayed a nation prepared for a prolonged confrontation.
