Recently, from January 27 to January 31, the National Masters Games held in Pune saw a remarkable achievement by Dr. Anindita Priyadarshini Das, a distinguished physician from Assam, who won a gold medal in powerlifting, bringing pride to the state. Alongside her successful medical career, she has become an inspiration for many by showcasing her talent in sports. This accomplishment marks another golden chapter in her sporting journey.
Dr. Das’s sporting journey is impressive. In 2019, she won a gold medal at the National Masters Powerlifting Championship in Chennai and secured the title of Strong Woman of India. That same year, she represented India at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship in Canada, bringing honor to her country with another gold medal. She continued her success by winning another gold medal and the title of Strong Woman of India at the national championship held in Mumbai in 2020. The following year, she clinched a gold medal at the Asian Powerlifting Championship in Istanbul.
Professionally, Dr. Das is an exceptionally educated and experienced doctor. She graduated with an MBBS degree from Gauhati Medical College in 1990 and completed her postgraduate degree in 1996. Additionally, she has obtained a special fellowship in maternal and child health and works as a recognized physician with the Indian Menopause Society. She has also pursued advanced training in aesthetic gynecology and anti-aging medicine from leading institutions in Germany and India.
For her extraordinary achievements, Dr. Das has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Strong Woman of India award, the Woman of the Year award, and the Global Super Achievers award, as well as the Bijou Phukan recognition for her contributions to sports. Furthermore, she has been honored with the Strong Woman of Assam and the Asian Iconic Woman Leader award for her leadership in health and fitness.
