ISRO Set for Exciting Satellite Launches in 2026, Says Chairman Narayanan
Coimbatore, Jan 24: ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan announced on Saturday that the Indian Space Research Organisation is preparing for multiple satellite launches scheduled for 2026. Speaking to reporters at an event, he emphasized the agency’s ongoing work, stating, “We are planning to send a lot of satellites this year. A lot of work is going on. After meeting the Prime Minister, we will announce them.”
In response to astronaut Sunita Williams’ suggestion that India and the U.S. should collaborate on space programs, Narayanan highlighted several significant projects in the pipeline. He mentioned initiatives under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including plans to establish an International Space Station and missions aimed at sending humans to the Moon and safely returning them to Earth.
Furthermore, Narayanan underscored India’s robust partnerships in space exploration with approximately 60 allied nations, stressing the advantages of international collaboration.
Regarding an anomaly experienced during the third stage of the PSLV-C62 rocket, he confirmed that scientists are currently analyzing the issue. “As I explained earlier, the PSLV rocket is a four-stage rocket. There was a deviation in the flight path after the third stage, and we are studying it further,” he noted.
When asked about his message to students, Narayanan, who also serves as Secretary of the Department of Space, advised them to concentrate on mastering their subjects while also focusing on their overall personality development.
