ICAMSE 2026 Launches in Imphal: Uniting AI and Cybersecurity Innovations
The inaugural function of the International Conference on Advanced Multidisciplinary Sciences and Engineering (ICAMSE 2026) took place on Wednesday at Manipur Technical University in Imphal. This three-day event, scheduled from January 21 to 23, 2026, is organized by the Department of Basic Sciences at Manipur Technical University (MTU).
Prof. Madan Mohan Tripathi, Director General of the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), served as the chief guest for the occasion. He shared his vast experience in electronics and IT, emphasizing the crucial role of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, the Internet of Things (IoT), and cybersecurity in promoting inclusive and sustainable development. Prof. Tripathi also stressed the significance of digital skills and research that address real-world challenges.
He encouraged institutions, researchers, and students to engage in nation-building through innovative efforts and commended the organizers for bringing together this important conference.
Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, the event’s President, discussed MTU’s commitment to a globally oriented academic and research strategy. He highlighted significant initiatives, including the implementation of a research and development policy, collaborations such as a memorandum of understanding with Swansea University for a twinning degree program, and the introduction of an adjunct faculty scheme aimed at involving international experts.
In addition, Prof. Chandbabu announced plans to launch a research journal and integrate multidisciplinary education spanning engineering, sciences, humanities, and social sciences. There are also plans to establish new departments in Biosciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Biomedical Engineering.
The conference saw an impressive submission of over 140 research papers, indicating a strong interest in multidisciplinary research. Prof. Chandbabu expressed a warm welcome to delegates from across India and international participants, conveying hope that the conference would foster collaboration, learning, and academic excellence.
A compilation of the conference abstracts was released, and a plenary talk was conducted, attended by faculty members, officials, staff, and students from MTU and NIELIT.
Distinguished guests included Prof. G. Singaiah, Vice-Chancellor of Birangana Sati Sadhani Rajyik Vishwavidyalaya in Assam; Dr. Sanabam Sujen Singh from the North Eastern Council Secretariat; Dr. Sandip Rashmikant Oza, a retired scientist and former group director at ISRO; Prof. Manoj Kumar Bhat, a distinguished scientist previously at BRIC-NCCS in Pune; Prof. Miroslav Mladjen Novakovic from the University of Belgrade in Serbia; Prof. Y. Rohen Singh from Manipur University; and Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Vice-Chancellor of MTU.
