Empowering Leadership: Nitin Nabin’s Vision for Party Growth

New Delhi, Jan 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nitin Nabin on his election as the new National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a ceremony held at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi. Nabin, now the youngest individual to hold this position, stands ready to lead the party while Modi humorously labeled himself as a “worker,” acknowledging Nabin as his “boss.”

Nabin’s election took place during the Sangathan Parv event, which aimed to solidify the party’s internal structure through democratic processes from local units up to the national leadership. Modi stated, “For the past several months, the organizational election process has been underway, ensuring adherence to the spirit and provisions of the BJP’s constitution.” He expressed gratitude to party workers nationwide for making this process a resounding success.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the party’s leadership is rooted in tradition and experience, stating, “I am first and foremost a worker of the BJP, and I am very proud of it.” Amid chants of support at the event, Modi called Nabin a “millennial,” highlighting the generational change and the significance of the upcoming 25 years in shaping a “Viksit Bharat” or developed India. He praised Nabin for his “youth energy” and extensive organizational experience, predicting that these qualities would greatly benefit the party.

Reflecting on the historical journey of the BJP, Modi recalled the party’s evolution under past leaders, mentioning that it rose from obscurity to prominence. He noted the contributions of iconic figures like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L.K. Advani and acknowledged the party’s growth under chairpersons such as J.P. Nadda and Amit Shah, who led the BJP to significant electoral victories.

Modi paid tribute to the founding members of Jana Sangh and framed the BJP as a cultural family where relationships transcend mere memberships. He underscored that the party is driven by ideals rather than positions, assuring that while leadership may change, its core values remain steadfast. He also indicated a growing interest in the BJP, noting that many across the nation are seeking to join the party as a viable entry point into politics.

In addition to Modi’s remarks, outgoing president J.P. Nadda celebrated Nabin’s leadership, calling this a historic day for the world’s largest political party. He commended Nabin’s grassroots experience, emphasizing the importance of his youthful and energetic approach.

Nadda expressed gratitude to Modi for his vision and attention to detail within the party, recognizing the Prime Minister’s critical role in guiding the BJP’s journey. Nabin was elected as the sole candidate and chosen by an electoral college of national and state council members, in accordance with party regulations that require a candidate to have a minimum of 15 years of membership and support from at least 20 electoral college members from a state. His appointment is seen as a strategic initiative to rejuvenate the party while maintaining its established legacy.
