Mirumi: The Heartfelt New Social Media Trend Bringing Childhood Nostalgia Back in a Cozy, Furry Package!

Mirumi, an innovative interactive robot charm, is rapidly gaining traction online, captivating consumers eager for a new collectible in a market now dominated by plush toys like Labubu. Launched on December 3, 2025, this unique, life-like charm is redefining the landscape of internet-driven collectibles.

Described as a delightful companion, Mirumi is designed to be attached to handbags, backpacks, or straps. Its charm lies not just in its aesthetic appeal but also in its ability to interact with the environment. Mirumi is equipped with sensors that allow it to exhibit subtle, childlike behaviors-glancing around, responding to touch, and displaying shy expressions. “Mirumi is a little companion robot that lights up your heart with its innocent, adorable expression. It notices the world around it and turns to take a peek. When its shy gaze meets yours, it sparks a moment of unexpected joy-just like when a human baby on a crowded train suddenly looks your way,” reads a post from the official @mirumi_tokyo Instagram account.

As a potential successor to the Labubu craze, Mirumi aims to disrupt a relatively untapped market. Unlike typical soft toys, this charm is a sophisticated robot wrapped in soft fabric, powered by a rechargeable battery. Developed by Yukai Engineering, a Tokyo-based robotics firm specializing in emotionally engaging robots, Mirumi utilizes proximity and motion sensors for interactive play. The product made its global debut at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, followed by a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign that runs until January 22.

The charm’s launch has elicited an enthusiastic response on social media. Users around the world have expressed their excitement, with one noting, “Wait stop-they are so cute!!! I want one also pushing for more influencer content, please.” Another user commented, “I would love a ‘chronic illness’ version. Having a little buddy like this instead of an app would make self-care and symptom management feel like a treat!” Enthusiastic feedback continues to roll in, with comments like, “I need that friend ” and “I’m so excited about getting my Mirumi! Is it guaranteed to receive our ‘reward’ now?”

In terms of pricing, Mirumi occupies the luxury novelty segment, with an introductory price set between ¥7,000 and ¥9,000. In India, consumers can expect to pay between ₹6,000 and ₹9,000 for this charming robot, although the final retail cost, including delivery and import duties, could rise to about ₹10,000 to ₹12,000, as reported by exchange4media.com.

With its unique blend of emotional engagement and cutting-edge technology, Mirumi stands poised to capture the hearts of collectors and casual buyers alike. As the demand for interactive and meaningful toys grows, these little robot companions are set to carve out a niche in the ever-evolving collectible marketplace.
