Gujarat Family’s Disturbing Abduction in Libya: Urgent Updates on Their Fate
A couple from Mehsana district in Ahmedabad and their three-year-old daughter have reportedly been kidnapped in Libya while trying to migrate to Portugal. The incident has raised alarm among local authorities and families. The family, identified as Kismatsinh Chavda, his wife Heenaben, and their daughter Devanshi, were reportedly taken hostage while traveling abroad.
According to police, the family was working with an agent based in Portugal to facilitate their migration, as Chavda’s brother is already settled there. The police confirmed that the family traveled from Ahmedabad to Dubai on November 29 before arriving in Benghazi City, Libya, where they were allegedly abducted. Mehsana Superintendent of Police Himanshu Solanki stated that the agents involved in this case are not Indian nationals.
Following the kidnapping, the abductors contacted the family’s relatives in Mehsana and demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore. Concerned relatives approached local officials for assistance. Prajapati, a local representative, was informed of the situation on Friday and subsequently reported it to the state government and the Ministry of External Affairs. Sources indicate that local MLA C J Chavda has raised the issue with both state and central authorities, as reported by the Times of India.
