Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ Soars to Epic Heights, Shattering Week 1 Records Beyond Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Sanju’ and Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’!
“Dhurandhar,” directed by Aditya Dhar and starring a stellar cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun, is making waves at the box office. Since its debut on December 5, the film has not only captured audience attention but has also shown remarkable consistency in ticket sales over its first week.
According to early estimates from Sacnilk, “Dhurandhar” generated an impressive collection of Rs 27 crore on Thursday, with projections suggesting a total surpassing Rs 28 crore by the end of the day. This remarkable performance on a regular weekday, primarily driven by positive word of mouth, indicates that the film’s seventh-day collections actually exceeded its opening day earnings. As a result, the film’s total net collection has now reached an impressive Rs 207.25 crore-significant for a movie without the advantage of a public holiday and carrying an ‘A’ rating.
This financial success places “Dhurandhar” ahead of several notable films, including Ranbir Kapoor’s biopic “Sanju” and Salman Khan’s “Tiger Zinda Hai,” which achieved Rs 202.51 crore and Rs 206.04 crore, respectively. The film now ranks 12th among the highest first-week collections in Bollywood history, just Rs 12 crore shy of Vicky Kaushal’s acclaimed period drama “Chhaava,” which ultimately grossed Rs 219.25 crore in its first week and became one of Bollywood’s top earners of 2025.
The list of top-grossing films remains competitive, with “Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2” leading the pack with an estimated Rs 425.6 crore during its first week. It is followed closely by Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbusters “Pathaan” and “Jawan,” which earned approximately Rs 351 crore and Rs 347.98 crore, respectively. Among others, Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal” has also made an impact with Rs 300.81 crore, while “Stree 2” grossed Rs 291.65 crore.
On the international front, “Dhurandhar” has crossed the significant Rs 50 crore milestone, garnering around Rs 57.5 crore from overseas markets. This brings the film’s global total to an estimated Rs 306.25 crore-yet another testament to its wide appeal and strong performance.
Moreover, in just a week since its release, “Dhurandhar” has climbed to third place in Ranveer Singh’s highest-earning films, now trailing behind his cop-action hit “Simmba,” which amassed Rs 240.3 crore, and the historical drama “Padmaavat,” his most lucrative project with lifetime earnings of Rs 302.15 crore.
With its combination of high-profile talent, engaging storytelling, and robust box office performance, “Dhurandhar” is solidifying its standing as a key player in Bollywood’s current landscape. As audiences continue to respond favorably, industry watchers will be keen to see how far this film can go in the competitive film market.
