Delhi Confidential: Explore the Divided Opinions Sparking Debate Today!
As Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini marks his first year in office, opinions within the BJP appear divided. Some party leaders commend Saini for fostering goodwill among the public through his various initiatives. However, others feel he has struggled to step out of the shadow of his predecessor, Manohar Lal Khattar, particularly in administrative matters. Insiders noted that Saini has largely kept the official machinery as it was upon Khattar’s departure. Within the BJP, there is now a call for Saini to take greater control over the bureaucracy.
In another development, members of several farmer producer organizations (FPOs) were taken aback to receive online orders directly from Krishi Bhawan, the headquarters of the Union Agriculture Ministry responsible for overseeing FPO operations. Even more surprising was the identity of the buyer: Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. In an effort to promote farmer-led enterprises, Chouhan purchased Jawa Phool rice from an FPO in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, and ordered turmeric, honey, and saffron products from other FPOs.
Meanwhile, a puzzling incident has unfolded in Delhi’s corridors of power. A car belonging to an intelligence officer from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence was stolen from East Delhi just days ago. The car displayed a Ministry of Home Affairs parking label, along with a CGO Complex sticker and an airport pass. An internal alert has since circulated, warning security personnel to be vigilant and ensuring the vehicle does not enter sensitive areas, particularly Kartavya Bhavan. This incident has left bureaucrats and investigators alike questioning who would dare to drive off in a government officer’s official vehicle.
