Transform Your Life: How Books Shape Personality, Insights from HM Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the importance of books in personality development during his visit to the Ahmedabad International Book Fair on November 22. He distributed books to children and explored various stalls at the event, which was organized by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the National Book Trust (NBT).
In a post on X, Shah emphasized that books serve as not only a source of knowledge but also as a crucial medium for personal growth. He remarked that the fair, which included literary programs, folk songs, poetry recitations, and a start-up forum, plays a vital role in enriching the intellectual lives of children and youth by promoting reading and skill development.
On the previous day, Shah inaugurated the new Shree Kamalam BJP district office in Morbi, attended by Gujarat BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma. The occasion also included a significant ceremony to honor party workers, marking an important milestone for the district unit. Addressing an enthusiastic crowd, Shah delivered a politically charged message aimed at energizing party supporters ahead of the local body elections.
“Those who predicted the decline of the BJP and NDA should listen closely-governments will be formed by the BJP and NDA even in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal,” he asserted. He called on the party to strive for record-breaking performance in upcoming municipal, panchayat, and other local elections, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, and state BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma.
Shah further stated, “The Congress will again be wiped out in the coming local polls. Each BJP worker must stay vigilant until the Congress can only be found through a telescope.” He reflected on the BJP’s foundational principles of ideology and organization, noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strengthened these and added a third dimension-service-that has guided numerous party members toward public service.
In a direct jab at Congress, he recalled Rajiv Gandhi’s statement “we two, our two,” asserting, “Today, the BJP and NDA govern two-thirds of India.” Shah reaffirmed the party’s commitment to national security and its stance on eliminating illegal infiltration, stating, “Let Congress and its allies do what they will. The BJP is dedicated to removing every infiltrator-from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Dwarka to Kamakhya. Voters in Bihar also supported the NDA for an infiltrator-free state.”
