Meghalaya CM and Northeast Leaders Unite for Landmark Tipra Motha Rally
Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma announced on Saturday that several prominent leaders from the northeast, including Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, will participate in a party rally scheduled for November 27 in Tripura. Speaking to the media at Agartala’s MBB Airport, Debbarma revealed plans for a mass rally at Swami Vivekananda Maidan.
He noted that other notable attendees will include Mmhonlumo Kikhon, Daniel Langthasa, and various other leaders from across the region. When asked about the One Northeast initiative, Debbarma stated that discussions were moving forward significantly. “We aim to shape a Pan-Northeast platform. It’s more effective to speak with one voice rather than tackle the same issues separately,” he commented.
Debbarma emphasized the importance of unity among people, regardless of their identities or states, in forming a collective voice to address common grievances. He criticized the current approach, urging that the government in Delhi lacks the time to respond to fragmented voices. “The issues are consistent, but the requests are scattered,” he concluded, highlighting the need for a consolidated front in addressing regional concerns.
