Guwahati: Gaurav has committed to furthering Zubeen’s vision of a “Bor Asom,” which aims to create a greater and more inclusive Assam, emphasizing equality across caste, creed, and religion. The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) highlighted that Gaurav’s pledge reflects the party’s dedication to preserving Assam’s cultural heritage while fostering social harmony and promoting the inclusive values championed by Zubeen.
In a recent video message, Gaurav, who also holds the position of Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, reiterated his commitment to peace, unity, and cultural integrity. He stated, “From today, I will be the watchman of Assamese nationality. Peace and harmony will be the foundation of my Bor Asom. I will be humanitarian, showing equal respect to all castes, creeds, and religions. I will oppose the casteist and communal forces that spread fear, hatred, and division in society. I pledge to raise my voice fearlessly on any issues concerning Assam’s interests. Additionally, I will protect the trees, hills, rivers, and wildlife of Assam.”
Gaurav further promised to support the underprivileged, presenting Assamese nationality as a prime example of unity in diversity to the global community. He concluded his message with a heartfelt, “Zoi Zubeen da,” emphasizing his respect for Zubeen’s legacy and commitment to his vision.
