Mohan Bhagwat’s Historic Visit to Manipur Following 2023 Ethnic Clashes
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Manipur on Thursday, November 20, marking his first visit to the state since ethnic violence erupted two years ago. This three-day trip coincides with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) centenary celebrations and will involve a series of closed-door meetings.
According to RSS officials, Bhagwat’s engagements during his visit will primarily focus on internal matters related to the organization’s centenary initiatives. On his first day, he is scheduled to meet entrepreneurs and notable citizens at Konjeng Leikai in Imphal. The following day, he will engage with tribal leaders from the hill districts, discussing community issues and concerns.
In addition to these meetings, there are plans for separate interactive sessions with youth leaders and influential citizens during the visit. While these meetings aim to foster dialogue, no public events or large gatherings have been announced, suggesting a more private approach to discussions.
This visit underscores the RSS’s ongoing commitment to addressing community dialogue in a region marred by conflict, reflecting a significant moment in the organization’s centennial celebration.
