The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the schedule for the inaugural ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy T20I, set to take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 20 to 30. This tournament represents a significant step in the ICC’s efforts to promote women’s cricket globally and increase participation in the sport. The T20I competition will feature the top eight Associate Members, including five with One Day International (ODI) status, alongside three of the highest-ranked teams in the ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings, as of the cut-off date of May 1, 2025.
The participating teams are Thailand, the Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, the United Arab Emirates, Scotland, Namibia, Tanzania, and Uganda. Matches will be held at two venues: the Terdthai Cricket Ground and the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok. Each of these eight teams will compete against one another in a single round-robin format, ensuring a comprehensive competition as they vie for supremacy on the international stage. This initiative underscores the ICC’s commitment to nurturing the growth of women’s cricket around the world.
