Delhi Blast Shock: Three More Arrested as Al-Falah University Faces Dual FIRs in Ongoing Investigation

Delhi Police have detained three individuals, including two doctors from Al-Falah University in Haryana, in connection with a car explosion near the Red Fort on November 10 that resulted in 13 fatalities. The detentions are part of an extensive investigation involving multiple agencies into the blast and the university’s associated activities. An official confirmed the arrest on Saturday, as well as the filing of two FIRs against the university for cheating and forgery, following irregularities flagged by the University Grants Commission and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

On Saturday evening, police teams conducted late-night raids targeting the university’s Okhla office to gather more information about the individuals under investigation. These coordinated operations were executed by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell and the National Investigation Agency in locales including Dhauj and Nuh, areas in Haryana.

The two detained doctors, identified as Mohammad and Mustakim, reportedly had connections to Umar ul Nabi, a university doctor and the driver of the vehicle involved in the explosion. Sources indicate that they were also in contact with Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie, a doctor currently under arrest for his alleged role in a “white-collar terror module.” Preliminary questioning has revealed that one of the doctors was in Delhi on the day of the blast to attend an interview at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Their statements are currently being evaluated to ascertain their ties to Ganaie and any potential involvement in a broader conspiracy.

In addition to the doctors, another individual named Dinesh, also known as Dabbu, was detained for selling fertilizers unlawfully. Authorities are investigating whether Dinesh sold NPK fertilizer, a substance often used in explosive materials, to the suspects. Reports emerged during the investigation indicating that members of the suspected terror cell pooled around ₹26 lakh to acquire explosives, spending approximately ₹3 lakh on NPK fertilizer alone. So far, more than 35 individuals have been interviewed in connection with this case.

In a related development, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation announced the reopening of two gates at the Lal Qila metro station, specifically gates 2 and 3, while gate 1 will remain closed until further notice. Commuters were notified via the DMRC’s official X account that access to these gates has been restored.

Traffic restrictions imposed on Netaji Subhash Marg following the tragic blast were also lifted on Saturday afternoon, allowing vehicles to navigate both carriageways once again. The investigations are ongoing, with officials pursuing every lead to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy and the individuals involved.

This incident underscores the urgent need for heightened vigilance and cooperation among law enforcement agencies to address and dismantle potential threats. As the investigation continues, authorities are committed to ensuring public safety while unraveling the complexities behind the tragic event.
