Veteran actor Dharmendra, 89, was discharged from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on the morning of Wednesday, November 12, following treatment for breathing complications. Hospital sources indicated that he had been under observation since October 31 after experiencing breathlessness. An ambulance was spotted leaving the hospital early Wednesday, reportedly taking the actor back to his home.
Dr. Pratit Samdani, who oversaw Dharmendra’s care during his stay, confirmed to PTI that he was discharged around 7:30 a.m. He will continue his medical care at home, as decided by his family.
On Tuesday, various reports mistakenly claimed that the iconic actor had passed away, which prompted his daughter, actress Esha Deol, to clarify the situation on social media. In a post on Instagram, Esha stated, “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery.” To prevent further misinformation, she also disabled the comments on her post.
Dharmendra, a beloved figure in Indian cinema for over six decades, continues to receive heartfelt wishes and prayers for his swift recovery from fans and colleagues alike.
