Rescue from Darkness: Man Arrested for Kidnapping and Assaulting Innocent Boy
A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping and assault of a six-year-old boy in the Subhash Place area of northwest Delhi. Authorities identified the suspect as Mohd. Samem, also known as Bithra, who was taken into custody following an extensive overnight search operation when the injured child was discovered near railway tracks.
Police received a distress call at approximately 3:18 a.m. on November 4 from the boy’s mother, who reported that her son had not returned home after stepping out to visit a nearby shop around 7:00 p.m. the previous evening. In response, law enforcement promptly registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for kidnapping and initiated a search for the missing child.
Efforts to locate the boy included reviewing CCTV footage from local shops and streets, as well as circulating his photo to neighboring police stations. After hours of searching, the boy was found lying injured in bushes near the railway tracks and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The investigation progressed rapidly after the child’s discovery. Following tips and leads, police apprehended the suspect in the Shakurbasti area. During questioning, Mohd. Samem reportedly confessed to the crime, explaining that his motivations stemmed from a personal grudge against the child’s family.
This troubling incident raises significant concerns about child safety in urban areas and the urgent need for community vigilance. As investigations continue, authorities are focusing on understanding the circumstances surrounding the case and preventing similar incidents in the future.
Parents and guardians are urged to stay alert and report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods, reinforcing the importance of community communication and cooperation with law enforcement.
The case remains under investigation, and further details will be provided as they become available. As of now, the young boy is receiving medical care, and authorities are working to ensure his safety and recovery.
The community’s response highlights the need for sustained awareness and protective measures for children, especially in urban settings.
