PM Modi’s Momentous Participation in Chhattisgarh Statehood Day Festivities
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Chhattisgarh today to celebrate the state’s 25th anniversary. During his visit, he will launch various development projects valued at over 14,260 crore rupees and engage in several significant programs.
His schedule begins with an interaction with approximately 2,500 children who have been successfully treated for congenital heart diseases under the ‘Gift of Life’ initiative at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, as part of his ‘Dil Ki Baat’ campaign. Following this, he will inaugurate “Shanti Shikhar,” a modern spiritual center established by the Brahma Kumaris, focusing on learning, peace, and meditation.
The Prime Minister will also unveil a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the new Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly building in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. This new assembly is designed with a Green Building concept, operating on solar power and including a rainwater harvesting system.
In the afternoon, Modi will inaugurate the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and the Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, showcasing the bravery of the state’s tribal communities. He will also launch a Museum Portal, an e-book titled “Aadi Shourya,” and reveal a horse-mounted statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh.
At the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav, celebrating 25 years of statehood, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for and inaugurate a series of transformative projects worth over 14,260 crore rupees across critical sectors such as roads, healthcare, industry, and energy.
To support rural livelihoods, he will inaugurate 12 new blocks under the Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme across nine districts. Modi will also take part in the ‘Griha Pravesh’ ceremony for 351,000 newly completed houses and distribute 1,200 crore rupees to three lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin).
For improved connectivity, he will lay the foundation stone for a four-lane Greenfield Highway stretching from Pathalgaon to the Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border, developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana at a cost of 3,150 crore rupees. Additionally, in the energy sector, he will inaugurate the Inter-Regional ER-WR Interconnection Project, enhancing power transfer capacity between the Eastern and Western grids by 1,600 megawatts.
The Prime Minister will dedicate and lay the foundation for energy projects exceeding 3,750 crore rupees. He will also inaugurate a new Petroleum Oil Depot by HPCL in Raipur and dedicate the 489 km Nagpur-Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline, linking 11 districts of Chhattisgarh to the National Gas Grid, thus fostering cleaner fuel usage and industrial growth.
Furthermore, Modi will lay the foundation for two Smart Industrial Areas in Janjgir-Champa and Rajnandgaon, as well as a Pharmaceutical Park in Nava Raipur’s Sector 22. His visit will conclude with groundbreaking ceremonies for five new Government Medical Colleges across the state and a Government Ayurveda College and Hospital in Bilaspur, aiming to enhance medical education and healthcare access in Chhattisgarh.
