Urgent Appeal: BJP Demands Comprehensive Probe into Serious Allegations Against Minister Konda Surekha!
The Telangana BJP has called for a comprehensive investigation into allegations against Konda Surekha, the Minister of Environment and Forests, and claims made by her daughter against the Congress government. Party president N. Ramchander Rao expressed concern over the involvement of other ministers and close associates of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the unfolding situation.
In a press conference on Thursday, Rao highlighted allegations that Surekha’s OSD, Sumanth, was intimidating cement company owners. He characterized the Congress government as mired in corruption, asserting, “The ruling party has turned into a ‘looting’ government, marked by threats and extortion.” Rao demanded that Congress leaders disclose their assets, benami holdings, and any illegal earnings. He further criticized the government’s handling of critical issues, stating that elderly retirees are not receiving their due benefits, salaries are delayed, unemployment is rampant, and overall administration remains chaotic.
The BJP believes that the previous BRS government also contributed to the rampant corruption in Telangana, leading to internal strife among those who previously benefited from the system. Rao urged the people of Telangana, particularly residents of Jubilee Hills, to reject what he termed “corrupt parties and candidates who resort to intimidation.” He specifically highlighted corruption allegations against the Congress candidate, Naveen Yadav, in the upcoming Jubilee Hills byelection.
In a further show of support for the BJP’s candidate, L. Deepak Reddy, Rao formally handed over the B form for the byelection. Meanwhile, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, addressed party workers in Borabanda, stating that the byelection presents a critical opportunity to reshape Telangana’s political landscape. He remarked, “Both BRS and Congress have neglected the constituency for the past decade,” emphasizing the deteriorating civic conditions, including overflowing drains and garbage accumulation.
Reddy also alleged that the Congress candidate was selected in conjunction with AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, suggesting that a coalition among Congress, BRS, and AIMIM was working to undermine the BJP’s position. He criticized the Congress for failing to fulfill its past promises, further fueling the BJP’s narrative of corruption and negligence within the ruling coalition.
The BJP’s bold stance aims to capitalize on public discontent with the current government’s performance while highlighting its own candidate as a viable alternative. As the Jubilee Hills byelection approaches, the political climate in Telangana is charged with accusations and counterclaims, setting the stage for a highly contested race.
This narrative of accountability and political revitalization resonates strongly with voters eager for meaningful change, making the upcoming election a pivotal moment for Telangana’s future. With increased public engagement and a focus on transparency, the BJP hopes to reposition itself as a challenger to the current ruling powers in the state.
