Hagrama Mohilary Considers Rejoining NDA Amid BPF-BJP Alliance Talks
Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) Chief Hagrama Mohilary, who is also the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), has indicated that he is open to rejoining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This decision hinges on the successful completion of ongoing talks with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
During a press conference at Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar on Wednesday, Mohilary stated, “Talks between BPF and BJP are ongoing regarding a possible alliance. If the discussions go well and are completed successfully, BPF will be part of the NDA.”
Mohilary’s comments suggest a potential realignment in regional politics, hinting at renewed collaboration between the BPF and the BJP. The BPF recently demonstrated significant electoral strength in the BTC elections, winning 28 out of 40 seats, which enhances its political clout and influence within the council.
Political analysts believe that the results of these alliance discussions could drastically alter the BTC’s political landscape and impact Assam’s overall political climate in the near future. The situation remains dynamic, with developments likely to unfold as negotiations progress.
