Empowering Hope: Churachandpur’s Displaced Persons Receive Vital Sports Kits
Internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in relief camps in Churachandpur district, Manipur, have received a boost in their daily lives thanks to the distribution of sports equipment and essential food supplies by the district administration. This initiative aims to enhance both physical activity and community interaction among families residing in temporary shelters. Deputy Commissioner Shri Dharun Kumar S personally handed out volleyballs, footballs, and carom sets to the residents during a program held at Sadbhavana Mandap in Tuibong.
More than 20 relief camps benefited from this initiative, which encourages recreation and strengthens community ties among IDPs. The distribution was organized by Samagra Shiksha, Manipur, in collaboration with the Zonal Education Office (ZEO) in Churachandpur, with officials and camp representatives in attendance.
In a separate action the previous day, the administration provided vital food items to IDPs, including 856 bags of rice, 175 bags of dal, 108 boxes of cooking oil, 68 bags of dried peas, and 43 bags of onions. This assistance underscores ongoing efforts to support the physical and emotional well-being of displaced families across the district, emphasizing the importance of community cohesiveness during challenging times.
