Authorities determined that the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle, traveling to Central Park before taking a taxi to an interstate bus depot. Mangione was ultimately apprehended five days later, based on a tip from a McDonald’s located 233 miles away in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Since his arrest, he has been held without bail.
