Urgent Warning: Army Chief Demands Pakistan Confront Terrorism to Secure Its Future in the Global Landscape

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi delivered a stern warning to Pakistan on Friday, urging it to reconsider its ongoing state-sponsored terrorism. Speaking to troops in Anupgarh, Rajasthan, Gen. Dwivedi emphasized India’s readiness for decisive action, signaling a shift from previous strategies. “India is fully prepared this time and won’t show the restraint we exhibited during Operation Sindoor 1.0. We will act in a manner that will make Pakistan think about its position on the world map,” he stated.

The General’s remarks come in the wake of heightened tensions following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which prompted Operation Sindoor. This operation saw India carry out strikes on nine terrorist sites within Pakistan, underscoring its military capabilities and commitment to combatting terrorism. Gen. Dwivedi reiterated that while the Indian military targets terrorist infrastructures, it distinguishes between militants and innocent Pakistani civilians. “We have no complaints against ordinary Pakistani citizens, but as long as the country sponsors terrorism, we will strike those who support it,” he emphasized.

A key part of his address revolved around maintaining constant vigilance. “Keep yourselves fully prepared now; if God wills, the opportunity will come soon,” he urged the soldiers. The Army Chief also highlighted that this time, India has provided evidence of the strikes, countering previous denials from Pakistan about the impacts of its operations. He remarked on a list mistakenly released by Islamabad that claimed over 100 Pakistani soldiers were among those killed, alongside numerous terrorists.

Gen. Dwivedi also noted the significant international support India received following Operation Sindoor, acknowledging a global recognition of India’s right to defend itself against terrorism. His remarks come as he seeks to reinforce the Army’s modernization and technological advancements, particularly the integration of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and counter-UAS capabilities to meet evolving threats.

During his visit, the Army chief engaged with senior leaders, veterans, civil dignitaries, and troops, thanking the civilian populace for their unwavering support. He recalled the solidarity shown by ordinary citizens in historical conflicts like the 1965 and 1971 wars, stating, “We would want them to join us in the days ahead as well. Their zeal boosts the morale of the soldiers.”

General Dwivedi’s comments resonate with ongoing concerns about national security and defense readiness amid rising regional tensions, making it clear that the Indian Army is committed not only to operational excellence but also to broader goals of peace and stability in the region. As conflict persists on the subcontinent, his call for vigilance and preparedness underlines the necessity for ongoing military readiness.

In a time where security issues remain at the forefront, the Indian Army reassures both its personnel and the public of its capabilities, emphasizing a proactive rather than reactive stance against threats. With the world watching closely, India’s military strategy appears more assertive, reflecting an increased focus on counter-terrorism operations and national defense.
